(Riverside, CA – October 27th, 2026) – Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino (FARSB) has once again partnered with ALDI for their annual volunteer event, where team members packed over 1,300 food boxes with various shelf-stable items to be distributed for disaster relief as needed.

“The Inland Empire (IE) is home to several areas that are heavily affected by wildfires, so disaster relief is critical to feeding the IE,” said Vanesa Rangel-Mercado, Interim CEO of FARSB. “Fortunately, there is no immediate need as of yet, but we continue to ensure that there is food available in times of crisis so we can get the items out to those affected swiftly.”

This event showcases community support from ALDI and ensures that families in need during a natural disaster have access to critical food supplies for their households. This donation of disaster relief will support aid efforts to alleviate hunger in disaster-affected areas where rebuilding may be necessary, and food insecurity can be an additional burden on an individual’s already complicated situation.

Though FARSB’s mission is dedicated to feeding families within the IE, especially as the holiday season approaches, the organization is grateful for the local support from ALDI that enabled it to receive community support in times of crisis. FARSB remains steadfast in its efforts to serve the region’s needs while standing ready to assist beyond that mission when relief is needed.

This volunteer event highlights FARSB’s commitment to ensuring that no family goes without during critical times. For more information about FARSB’s work to alleviate hunger, visit FeedingIE.org.

An October City announcement draws attention to an everyday household practice with benefits for food budgets, kitchen safety and the environment. A basket of fresh produce can represent a week's worth of meals, the results of a successful backyard harvest or an unexpected bargain at the grocery store. Yet without proper storage, even the freshest fruits and vegetables can spoil before a family has an opportunity to use them.

An October announcement highlights how investigative technology and cooperation among law enforcement agencies can help solve crimes affecting Grand Terrace neighborhoods. For residents of Grand Terrace, home is more than an address. It is where families gather, children grow up and neighbors build relationships over many years. When a residential burglary occurs, the effects can extend beyond the property taken or damage caused. A crime inside someone's home can undermine the sense of security that makes a neighborhood feel safe.
