Moreno Valley's Fun Color Run Returns November 14 With a Two-Mile Celebration for Families

Running shoes, colorful clothing and a willingness to have fun will take center stage in Moreno Valley on Saturday, November 14, when the city hosts its 2026 Fun Color Run at the Civic Center Amphitheater.

The event combines physical activity with a festival atmosphere, inviting participants to complete a two-mile course while passing through color powder stations. Unlike a traditional competitive road race, the Fun Color Run is untimed, allowing participants to move at a comfortable pace and enjoy the experience without worrying about finishing positions.

The celebration is scheduled from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Civic Center Amphitheater, 14075 Frederick Street, with parking lot access from Alessandro Boulevard. Check-in begins at 8 a.m., the run starts at 9:30 a.m., and a color toss and closing ceremony are scheduled for 10:45 a.m.

The format makes the event especially appealing to families and residents who may not normally participate in organized races.

Walkers are welcome, as are participants with strollers and dogs on leashes. The emphasis is on community participation rather than speed.

That approach reflects a growing understanding that recreational events can be most effective when they offer different ways for residents to become involved.

For some participants, completing two miles may be a familiar weekend activity. For others, the event could provide motivation to begin walking more regularly or participate in a public fitness event for the first time.

Children may remember the bright colors and excitement, while parents appreciate an opportunity to spend time together outdoors.

The city has also planned a group costume contest, encouraging friends and families to demonstrate their creativity and team spirit. Participants interested in the contest can register at the Parks & Community Services booth on the day of the event.

Additional attractions include vendors, event shirts, goodie bags and custom medals.

The combination of physical activity and entertainment gives the event a broader community purpose. Rather than focusing exclusively on athletic performance, it creates an environment where people of different ages and fitness levels can share an experience.

For Moreno Valley, events like the Fun Color Run also support the role of public gathering spaces in bringing neighborhoods together.

The Civic Center area serves as a location for numerous municipal and community activities. Hosting an event that draws residents from across the city can help strengthen the connections that make public spaces valuable.

There are also practical benefits to encouraging recreational activity. Walking and running provide opportunities for cardiovascular exercise, while outdoor community events can motivate people to spend time away from sedentary routines.

The city has established registration fees of $25 for participants ages 12 through 59 and $15 for children ages 3 through 11 and seniors ages 60 and older.

Regular registration continues through November 12 at 5 p.m. There will be no registration on the day of the event, and registration payments are nonrefundable.

The run is scheduled to take place rain or shine, although organizers note that event details may change.

Residents seeking information can contact the Parks & Community Services Department at 951-413-3280 or email specialevents@moval.org.

For a growing community, opportunities to celebrate together can be as meaningful as the activities themselves.

On November 14, Moreno Valley residents will have a chance to experience an event where the goal is not necessarily to finish first, but to participate, laugh and cross the finish line with a colorful memory of their community.

An October City announcement draws attention to an everyday household practice with benefits for food budgets, kitchen safety and the environment. A basket of fresh produce can represent a week's worth of meals, the results of a successful backyard harvest or an unexpected bargain at the grocery store. Yet without proper storage, even the freshest fruits and vegetables can spoil before a family has an opportunity to use them.

An October announcement highlights how investigative technology and cooperation among law enforcement agencies can help solve crimes affecting Grand Terrace neighborhoods. For residents of Grand Terrace, home is more than an address. It is where families gather, children grow up and neighbors build relationships over many years. When a residential burglary occurs, the effects can extend beyond the property taken or damage caused. A crime inside someone's home can undermine the sense of security that makes a neighborhood feel safe.

The rumble of a commercial truck passing through a city can represent two very different things. For a business awaiting a delivery, it may signal the arrival of essential supplies. For residents living near a busy roadway, it may raise concerns about traffic, noise and safety. In Grand Terrace, finding a reasonable balance between those interests is at the center of an ongoing transportation planning effort.
